I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day week end....and remembered those who allow us to have the freedom that we are blessed with.
Twin Mills started filling up on Thursday for the "early birds". By Friday this place was really hopping. All of the golf carts had been rented out. The roads were packed with folks walking to and from either the pool or the lake, walking their dogs, driving around in their golf carts, or riding the many, many bikes. There were so many bikes and carts out, that I was afraid to ride my bike. I thought that I would crash into somebody.... :( i
This is the view of the pool on Monday about noon.
Andrea, David and CJ came to spend the afternoon. It was such a nice time. Cookin' "dogs" here.
We had a coupon for the rental of a golf cart for 1/2 day. By noon on Memorial Day, most of the rentals had been turned in. So, we decided to use our coupon. When our guests left, we still had a couple of hours on our rental, so we just rode around and used up the time. It was cool with the breeze in our hair....the air temp had to be 90. I'd never rent these any other time, cuz 1/2 day is $25. Too rich for my blood. But we enjoyed it....so did Tommy. Her ears flapped in the wind.
CJ was dying to get in the water.....here with Daddy.
Chillin'. Good posture, Anni.... :-)
Then, cruising around the lake....once again, a way to keep cool.
Helping PaPa.
She wanted to nap....but never quite did...
A view from the "poop deck".
Not that anybody is interested in my worn out crocks....but see that little caterpillar crawling around the top one? That little guy started his JOURNEY somewhere around 3 pm yesterday....He just kept going round, and round, and round the edge of the shoe. I checked on him multiple times....and there he was just a-crawlin' along. Went to bed last night....still crawlin'. This morning, there he was, but taking a nap. So, I decided to put him out of his long journey; dumped him out on our rug...and he crawled on his way. He had to be starved and worn out by this time!

After our guests gone, and we had used every last minute on our golf cart, we went to the pool. There were about 4 other people in it. So, we just chilled in the pool, enjoyed talking to other "seasonal" campers, and cooled off. It was such a nice day.
Today, Tuesday, Chris is out fishing until the weather gets bad. Supposed to get some storms by late afternoon. But, it's nice now.
Then, just before Anni and family arrived there was a 6" turtle making it's way across the road, coming from the kids fishing pond and heading for our camper. I protected her from a truck and a golf cart. When I went to pick her up, she moved really fast to protection under our camper. There she stayed in the cool shade. At some time I'm sure she continued her journey. Chris says she was probably going somewhere to lay her eggs. Happy hunting, little turtle....you almost got squished.
Once again, thanking our troops for their service to keep us free....and all those who went before. May God bless them all.
Until we "connect" again....
