Then Chris got a lot of energy and washed down the entire camper and roof. Can't you just see it shining? The cloudy sky doesn't allow you to see the shine....but it is there!
The other day while walking Tommy it began to rain (what's new?). We decided to take shelter under a nearby picnic shelter. On the way, walking under some pines, Chris just looked down and saw these huge MORREL MUSHROOMS! Chris says that he has never found these under pines before. Well....there's always a first time. What a tastey treat they were the next morning with scrambled eggs.

Not a lot goes on here when it rains...but if one keeps their eyes open there are exciting things to see. I was driving up to the Laundromat yesterday (after we left the roof vent open during a down-pour and the bed got super soaked ! :) when I saw a HUGE woodpecker! The biggest I had ever seen in my life! I slowed down, pulling out my little camera. This was a habit I had gotten into in Alaska....never go anywhere without a camera. We had missed a little baby moose before we realized we had to have a camera with us at all times. Never did get a picture....it was much to quick for me. Told Chris about the bird; looked it up on his iphone app....and this is the bird. It was a PILIATED WOODPECKER. I hear that they are territorial ....so I should get another opportunity.
Like I said.....this place is filling up. It is totally packed. One sees loads of golf carts, bikes and people walking EVERYWHERE! Many little kids walking past our campsite, toward the lake with there little fishing poles in hand. They have such fun. There are activities going on like watermellon seed spitting contest, bonfires, etc. Something for everyone.
Don't let us forget that this weekend is for our fortunate country to remember the real reason for it....to remember the fallen heroes who have died for our freedom. Thank God for our Military....so dedicated and selfless.
I should get more pics of the festivities this sweek end and will add those as they occur. God bless all. Until we "connect" again....
