JULY STEAMS ON

We love to host family and friends at our summer "lake home". And besides, with the terribly sticky and mucky July that we've had so far....Twin Lake is a good escape and gives us a hard found breeze.Andrea and I wanted to go to Shipshewana flea market. When she came with little Charolette, we used the occasion to get out on the boat....and searched all over that lake for an elusive breeze!

The movie star pose from Charolette.

Last week two other grandkids came to go fishing....but of course we had to do smores. Ya can't go camping with a camp fire....120 degrees or not.... It was so hot, I was not eager to have Chris start a fire. But Charlie & Dawson won out.....and enjoyed their smores.

Grandpa made the announcement that they would be going fishing at 6 am because the heat of the day was just too hot to sit on the water in a boat. Luckily, the morning was overcast....so they were able to stay out fishing for four hours!!!!

It would have been truly funny if Dawson actually fell in :) He was told to sit down multiple times; but I think that he had watched bass fishing shows on TV (with the fishermen standing up in their boats) and thought that that was the way to fish.

A nice little non-official tradition at Twin Mills Camping Resort is the golf cart parade each Saturday night. Often the folks on the carts have candy that they pitch out for the kids. D & C thought that this was fantastic!

More pretty pictures of lilly pads in bloom.

Another cucumber. They don't seem to get much bigger than big pickle size. But they keep coming along slowly, and we eat them as they come.

We found a county park near here. I will have some pictures of it the next time we "connect".
