Here's some pretty pictures that have not made it onto my blog. So, today is the day....here they are.

This beautiful sky was in Willow, shortly before we headed out. Although it had rained for almost 2 weeks straight....there were beautiful times.

A fish wheel on the Chilkat River, along the drive into Haines, AK (where we are now). You can see the three big "paddles" or scoups that scoup up the salmon and deposit them in a box. The three guys to the right are cleaning fish. I think these fish wheels are really cool. Only Alaskans can fish this way.

As we were driving along Kluane Lake in the Yukon Territory, on the Alaskan Highway, this neat little cabin was on the other side of the road. It was abandoned; we conjectured that it was either a trappers or a miner's cabin. That shed, or whatever it is, to the left, could be the entrance to a gold mine. Lots of that was done here.

OK, Jeanne....here's some pretty pictures, just for you. These are just some weeds along the road, or wild flowers, if you want to call them that.

...and here some more weeds/wild flowers. These roads are just peppered with beautiful color.
We are staying at Chilkoot State Park, outside of Haines, AK. We will be here until the 9th of August when we get on the ferry for Sitka, AK.
We came in to walk around town and see some things. The southeast state fair is starting today and we may go out to that on Saturday. The weather is gorgeous; not raining! Loving not walking around in rain gear. They tell us that there are lots of bear out near our campground. Haven't seen any yet. But we still have a chance.
So, until we "connect" again.....
