July 17: 6 FISH, 8 CASTS, 30 MINUTES

Does this look like somebody was having fun? He was fishing near Alison Point in Valdez near the end of the Alaska pipeline. These red salmon were all 5-8#. It was like a fishing circus!

Lots of fun had here....

Someone else showed up for the fishing fun. This young 3 yr. old black bear came along to get her share of the fish. She just walked along on the other side of the road and then cut across and went down to the water. We were told that last night a grizzley sow and 3 cubs came to the shore and walked along looking to where she was going to fish. All of the fishermen just pulled in their lines, stepped back and let her take her pick of fishing spots.

Going to church tonight and then back out to Alison Point to get another limit of salmon at midnight....perhaps we'll see more bear.

Our thoughts are with the parishioners of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Waterloo, IN. They are happily moving back into our restored church this week end. I sure hope somebody sends me some pics!
