July 10; WORK PARTY AT ST. CHRISTOPHER'S CHURCH

Hi folks,
This was the biggest fish that Chris landed while we were on Nancy Lake last week…tee hee.

Ya’ll have seen this picture before. Today was our last Sunday at our “church family away from home”. Don’t let this picture fool you. It was taken in May. The blue sky was not here yesterday, and the little St. Anthony flower garden is 5 feet tall now!

This is the first good picture of the pastor. He is Philipeano, but living her permanently. Nice guy.
The church was working on building a deck off of the back of church. Chris stopped by and helped them.
This is the group of wonderful folks who worked on the deck. They did have fun.
While us ladies (they fixed a meal for the guys working) were sitting around chatting, this one lady was tatting!

This is a dying art. My mom used to do this.
What a wonderful surprise we had last night. The parents of Andrea Glasscoc, a nurse back home, stopped by. They had been following my blog (Yea! somebody's reading it!). Judy and Gordon were such a surprise. Judy had lived here back in the 60's.
They are such a happy couple; Judy has a laugh just like her daughter, Andi. Wonderful visit.

This is just a pic of a beautiful butterfly we saw.
Soooo....Today is the last Mass at our adopted church here. Friday we are leaving for Chitina & McCarthy. Then to Valdez for fishing. Back here on the 26th for the hosts party. Then we're hooping to head to Haines and take the ferry to the Inside Passage. At least that's the plan today....all things change. God alone remains. (used to hear that a lot when I was in the convent.... :-)
So, luntil we connect again....
