These are friends of ours who are the hosts at Redshirt Lake. They have to hike in 3 miles to their cabin, carrying their food & supplies with them. (and they are older than us!) They have about 5 PUC’s (public use cabins) to over-see, and take care of the aread around them. Once a week they hike to the trail head and someone picks them up and brings thems to the Maintenance yard, where there are a couple of cabins that trail workers, etc. stay in. We decided to go out to eat or have a pot luck. So, The Burger Bus won out. Had a most enjoyable time with them. Really didn’t have anything to take for something like that. PS....folks have seen tracks of grizzley along their path....hmmmmm
This beautiful rainbow appeared over Nancy Lake while Chris was fishing. He spent some time on Willow Creek today trying for King Salmon. No luck…that’s why they call it “fishing” and not “catching”. He’s going down again late tonight. That seems to be when the fish bite.

Saw some young adults playing in a pile of sand the other day…afterwards I observed the product of their creativity with twigs and stones. Thought this was very cute. I had hopes that it would be left undisturbed so more could enjoy it. Aah…..not to be. It has since been destroyed.
Chris took this shot of me from where he was working on picnic tables. I was across the way cleaning out fire pits. He called me the “bag lady”. (note the yellow bag)
Saturday night Chris fished until about 11:15. Quite a few anglers: perhaps 25-30 of them. I think they had all heard that a few Kings had come out of Willow Creek, and they all wanted to be there when the run began; a couple of fish were caught. Chris says he’s done with the late night fishing. He’ll try other times now. Late nights don’t seem to work for him.
It's off to drop off our wash at the Maintenance yard; then to church; then to the Burger Bus for our Sunday treat. Yummmy.
Until we "connect" again...
