August 15; Happy Birthday, Christopher

Happy Birthday, eldest son....Christopher. Can't believe that you are 47 today. I remember when you started Kindergarden. My, my.....time flies!
There's Chris on the ladder, helping our neighbor put an over-hang on the front of his "park model" home, behind our RV. Chris just can't "just watch"....duh....

Last week we popped over to see the "Presidential Sweet", to get some hugs from them. Here's Kennedy sporting the scarf she wanted on..... Do we see a budding model?

Here's creative Lincoln showing off his Lego model plane. Quite advanced, me thinks.... ;)
Saturday evening Andrea called and asked us to meet them in LaGrange at the "Gas & Steam" show at the fairgrounds. It was loads of fun.....

I would say that 1/2 of the folks there were Amish. They don't like their pictures taken....but I managed to get these, not of any particular person....on the sly (sneeky me)

I am very fascinated by their lives. And as you know, we are living in the middle of Amish-land. And many of them actually camp at our campground. (surprised me!)

Here's a daddy walking with his little girls. I note that dads are really involved with their children. Nice.

Anyway, back at the tractor show....here's Chris admiring that old car.

Here's a milking a cow demonstration...

which Charolette tested out....with success.

Here's a tractor that is really a "family affair"....and the little girl didn't fall off the back!

Lots of tractors....

You can see why we enjoyed watching these folks driving around their tractors. They were even in the field plowing with an old tractor. Didn't get close enough to that for pictures.

Cool....huh?

Now, that's what you call a "steam roller"...

We had lots of fun. Too bad we didn't get to watch the "tractor pull" the next morning.

"Another boring sunset ..."

Almost ripe. Getting ONLY FOUR tomatoes off of our plant..... They will tast good....but a disappointment that we're only getting four so far. Oh well....that's life.

That's all for now. Do take care and have a wonderful week in this cooler weather. Loving every minute of it... :)

Until we "connect again"....
