Here is our 2010 edition of The Milepost...the "bible of the North Country Travel". It's hot off the press, mailed to us directly from the printer. We used the 2007 edition on our last trek to Alaska. It is EXTREMELY useful. It's been printed since 1949, and is updated every year. It tells EVERYTHING about EVERYWHERE, in Alaska and Canada; where every bump in the road is, where every bit of bad road is, what fish to fish for in each creek, river, etc.
You cannot imagine the wealth of the information this inch thick magazine holds. Just now looking up the Willow Creek State Recreation Area, where we will be campground hosts....The Milepost states that it is "the 4th busiest king salmon fishing area in the state." Are we going to be busy or what???
I am so ready to begin more planning....but can't do yet. We will be putting the camper on the truck around April 1st. Then we can do more deliberate planning: like putting on the protective brush shield on the back of the bumper (to protect the boat from stones), and installing the rearview camera (to make sure the boat STAYS on the back of the camper). There's really not much else for us to do other than packing clothes and food. Can't wait!
