JUNE 22; THE DAY AFTER THE LONGEST DAY OF THE YEAR

The day after the summer solstice doesn't have the day lasting from 4:15 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. sunset like in Willow, Alaska, but it was a whole lot better than the summer solstice here. That day was about 90 degrees with 90% humidity. Positively horrible. We were on a mission, though. We walked through the heat at the Shipshewanna flea market looking for "RED NECK LIGHTS". That's what we call the lights around camper awnings. Been looking everywhere for them. But finally found some at a hardware store in Shipshe.... Can you see them....little lanterns. Not showing well. Maybe I'l get a better picture.

Here's the race of "THE TORTOISE AND THE HARE"....the little bunny is hard to see so I put a circle around it. The turtle is on the left. We managed to get them both in the same picture. The turtles seem to be going across the road a bunch right now; probably to lay their eggs and are comming from the pond. The first litter of baby bunnings are starting to hop around, too. Very cute.
Yesterday Charolette and the Presidential Sweet and Andrea & CJ came to visit for the day. Andrea saw a turle in the grass down the way and brought it to show the kids. She's not "picking her nose"....but holding back because the frightened little turtle started peeing all over her!

Our tomato plant is doing very well; it has about a dozen blossoms on it now. Can't wait for a tomato and peanut butter sandwich!

Little Kennedy talks non stop.....and here she's telling Aunt Anni something monumentally important.

She does look like the teacher that she is....doesn't she? :)

Charolette and Charolette pose cheek-to-cheek with huge smiles.

Dad and daughter chill in the shade. Love Charolette's hair doo.

The kids were so busy and Madison jut loves walking a dog. So Tommy was a willing participant. Note Charolette is holding Kennedy's hand....big girl she tries to be. :)

Of course, every little member of the Presidential Sweet had to keep running inside the RV to the special potty that is there. Then Kennedy had to find a special little window, just her size to peek out of.

Then, "monkey see-monkey do" had to be just like Kennedy. I think his smile is getting cuter all the time.

Linc the Lion tamer....

Madison is willing to stop whatever she's doing and give me a good smile for a picture. Love it.

Of course, the wonderful day was topped off with smores. The kids had a blast as usual. ....and turned into sticky little messes.

It was supposed to rain, but only did a little. What a nice day; not too hot, not much rain; fun & family. Loved every minute.

We met some folks here at the campground and have become friends. They are seasonal campers....but alas and alak....they are young and unfortunately have to work for a living. So, we mostly see them on week ends whenever we're here. Last week it was so hot, that Chris suggested we pack a lunch and go out on the lake to keep cool.

I invited our friends, Sue, Frank and their little Jackie to go for a ride. They had such fun. I thought Jackie might be afraid....but not so. A regular little trooper. Discovered that Frank is a bow hunter....so Chris and Frank gabbed the whole time!

Onward for the next adventure....."until we connect again".....
